The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic – it may Come With Music, but Nokia could also have mentioned that it Works With Amazon Video.
The Nokia 5800 has an extra trick up its notional sleeve – one that was barely mentioned by Nokia. As well as access to Nokia’s Comes With Music service, Nokia 5800 owners can also Sync with Amazon’s Video on Demand service to watch TV and ovies on the go.
It is a bit of a convoluted process at the moment – you need to Sync your Nokia 5800 with a PC for it to work. You will need to install the Amazon VoD player – a PC app that will actually grab the video for you and store it ready for synching to your phone.
Once the VoD player has downloaded the video you want – congratulations, you are only a half dozen or so interminable steps away from transferring the video across!
Assuming Nokia/Amazon can work out the kinks this could be a great little extra for Nokia 5800 owners. Or at least it would be, if only Amazon would get its finger out and make Amazon Video on Demand available for us here in the UK…
