BBC iPlayer will be going HD from later this month! Read on for all the high def details.
Everyone’s favourite free online TV on demand service, BBC iPlayer, will start streaming in HD from March!
At the Financial Times Digital Media And Broadcasting conference today, Jana Bennett, director of BBC Vision, in charge of BBC iPlayer, let slip that programs from the BBC HD channel would be available to watch this month on BBC iPlayer!
Bennett wouldn’t give any more details on HD coming to BBC iPlayer, such as what resolution we’d be seeing and just how fast a connection you’d need to stream at near realtime speed, but the Beeb has promised more info on BBC iPlayer going HD shortly, so be sure to stay tuned!
