BMW DesignworksUSA has teamed up with Thermaltake to design the first BMW PC. Forget beige boxes, this is PC design in the fast lane. Each component sits in its own shell, which hooks up to the main PC processor. It’s quirky, sure, but is it beautiful?
The BMW PC has been sending jaws floor-ward at the CeBIT show. It’s designed to separate all the components from each other and maximise airflow around them, keeping the whole thing cool and reducing the need for noisy fans.
The more we look at the BMW PC, the more we like it. But it’s hard to imagine plonking one on an office desk and not feeling ashamed of all the other kit you’ll need to connect to it.
Speaking of which, where are the wires? The BMW PC, which is officially named the Level 10, seems to be completely cable-free. We assume that means every component is custom made, and that means one thing: the BMW PC will be pricey.
But is that a problem? Aren’t all classic designs ludicrously expensive?
