BlackBerry App World is the name RIM has chosen for its take on the App Store concept. A World is beter than a Store, right? Right? Check after the jump for more details and how much you will be paying for this World of Apps.

BlackBerry App World is the name you need to remember if you own a BlackBerry and have been casting envious glances at your iPhone owning friends with their apps and their games and their fun. Soon, you too will be able to download a LOLCats applet.

BlackBerry App World will get its official launch ‘soon’ (register here for details) but we have been through the developer FAQ to get you some news about the pricing sttructure and what kind of stuff you can expect to buy.

Developers can offer apps for free on BlackBerry App World, but if they want to charge the cheapest an app can go for is £2.59. The next pricing tier is £3.45 then £4.29, £5.15, £5.99, £6.85, £7.69 and £8.55. These seem like random figures, but are based on conversions from $1.99, $2.99, etc. Higher prices can be set in increments of $10, $50 and $100 equivalents.

You will be able to buy apps, games and web apps that comply with the Developer guidelines (i.e. no porn, no hidden charges etc.) You won’t be able to buy Themes though – at least, not in the first version of the BlackBerry  App World.
