UPDATE: Not only have we got hands-on with the O2 Joggler, we’ve just found out third party apps could be coming to it!
The O2 Joggler touchscreen home organiser sounds like a Comic Relief publicity stunt, but it’s real and real useful: it’s a 7 inch touchscreen tablet that’ll help your family stay organised, and do away with paper calendars once and for all. Details after the link below.
The O2 Joggler features O2’s new O2 Calendar, which will send out text alerts to everyone in the family to remind them of birthdays and more importantly, which parent is picking the kids up post curfew at a party.
Wi-Fi and ethernet are also included in the O2 Joggler, so you can bring up traffic updates from Trafficmaster for the school run, check the headlines with Sky News stories or even find out the weather forecast before you head out the door.
Despite being sold by a mobile network, the O2 Joggler doesn’t have a SIM card inside, so there’s no extra monthly payment, just a one off payment.
O2 says internet radio and the ability to send regular SMS messages will be included in the Joggler at some point too. The O2 Joggler is out in April, priced at £150 or free as an O2 upgrade. More details when we get them.
What do you reckon? Is the O2 Joggler a fantastic home hub or a digital photo frame with bells on? Would you buy one? Give us your thoughts on the O2 Joggler below.
