Windows Mobile 6.5 will come with a new and improved Internet Explorer 6 web browser that claims to offer a true ‘desktop’ browsing experience as well as being much more suited to touch screen use. Take a look after the jump for a peek at what we can expect in the next version of WinMo.
Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM images seem to be leaking like water from a sieve at the moment. The nice chaps over at PocketNow got hold of a recent build via the XDA Developers Forum and gave it a spin, recording their progress for posterity in a YouTube clip.
The first difference is that IE 6 displays the full page a la Iris or Skyfire or (dare we say it) Safari. You can pan around and zoom in and out of the page using button controls at the edge of the screen.
Everything is optimised for manipulation with a pudgy finger rather than a finely pointed stylus and pop-up menus are designed to be flicked trhough rather than painstakingly prodded as with earlier mobile IE versions.
