Sony Cyber-shot HX1 unveiled

The Sony Cyber-shot HX1 is Sony’s flagship point and shoot digital camera, newly unveiled at the PMA tradeshow in Las Vegas, and it’s the first to tote Sony’s Exmor CMOS image sensor for high speed, high quality shooting. Get all the specs after the jump!

The Sony Cyber-shot HX1 is the first Cyber-shot model with Sony’s 9.1 megapixel Exmor CMOS built in, which ups the rate of continuous shooting to 10 frames per second whilst still reducing image noise. For any potential peeping toms needing to take high speed, high quality photographs from a distance, the Sony Cyber-shot HX1 comes with a 20x optical zoom. It’ll even record video in 1080p and has a three inch LCD screen to view everything on.

Software wise, the Sony Cyber-shot HX1 comes with Smile Shutter to prevent those terrible pursed lip semi-smiles, as well as Intelligent Scene Recognition to auto-adjust its own settings.

The Sony Cyber-shot HX1 is out in May with price to be confirmed still, but don’t start counting your pennies just yet – plenty more cameras to come from PMA this week!
