The Panasonic Lumix GH1 hybrid camera has just been launched, and it shoots full HD video too! All the details after the jump.
Panasonic has just launched the Panasonic Lumix GH1 at PMA, and like the Lumix G1 before it, it’s a hybrid camera that uses the four thirds Lumix G Micro System and allows for interchangeable lenses, just like a DSLR – but smaller.
Onboard the Panasonic Lumix GH1 there’s an ace new 12.1 megapixel Live MOS image sensor, and 1080p HD video recording at 24 frames per second, or 720p at a zippy 60fps, with both offering Dolby Stereo Creator sound.
There are some clever software features on board the Panasonic Lumix GH1 too, including iA (Intelligent Auto) which offers face recognition as well as detection, so the camera will store particular mugs and prioritise them in a group shot – great for Facebook photos, not so great for randoms sticking their face into your photos.
There’s a HDMI output on onboard too, but you can also play back snaps and videos from the Panasonic Lumix GH1 on Panasonic Viera TVs – just pop the SD card in and you’re away.
The Panasonic Lumix GH1 comes in red or black flavours – we’re still chasing Panasonic for pricing and shipping details but we’ll keep you posted.
