New Mac Pro unleashed

The new Mac Pro has been unleashed alongside the new iMac and Mac Mini models, and it’s a titan of a machine with a quad core Intel Xeon processor – or two – inside. All the new Mac Pro specs after the jump!

Video editors rejoice! The new Mac Pro has just gone live on the Apple store, with two different, monstrous configurations. The new Mac Pro still sports the same smooth, sexy casing, but inside there’s either a 2.66GHz quad core Intel Xeon processor, 3GB of RAM and a 640GB hard drive, or in the ultimate version, two quad core 2.26GHz processors, 6GB of RAM and the same storage space.

Both versions of the new Mac Pro pack an NVIDIA GeForce GT 120 graphics card, and the now standard Mini DisplayPort to hook it up to an Apple Cinema Display, while there’s the option to upgrade to 32 gigs of RAM and 4TB of hard disk should you have money to burn.

Brace yourself though: the quad core new Mac Pro model ships at £1899, while the eight core version of the new Mac Pro will set you back £2499. Have a gander at it over at the store, and we’ll keep you posted on any more Apple news as and when it breaks.
