God of War: Chains of Olympus was one of the best PSP games of last year and a worthy conversion of the full-size console hit, God of War. Now, amidst stirrings in the PSP camp. there are rumours that the game may be about to get a sequel.
God of War puts you in the sandals of Kratos – a muscular young chap with a penchant for hacking the head from a Greek God’s shoulders. Just as a way to wind down after a long day’s Minotaur stabbing.
The original console God of War made a surprisingly high-quality leap to the PSP’s small screen last year. Developers Ready at Dawn have previously stated that they had ceased all PSP development, but an unnamed source told Joystiq that Ready at Dawn had received new development kits after Sony requested a sequel to God of War late last year.
Also lending credibility to the God of War rumours is Sony’s recent announcement of 3 new ‘triple A’ PSP titles that it claimed would ‘invigorate‘ the flagging handheld. Last week Sony announced that LittleBigPlanet and Assassin’s Creed would be coming to the PSP – does God of War 2 make it a hat trick?
