The Panasonic DMR-BS850 just fell into our grasp – it’s the first Freesat receiver that’ll also record to Blu-Ray and its built in hard drive. We’re absolutely besotted with it, and you will be too once you’ve clapped eyes on our hands-on photos!
Panasonic just let slip a tasty on-demand tidbit: the BBC iPlayer will come to Freesat this year, allowing on-demand TV to be watched through set top boxes without subscribing to Virgin Media.

Swiss scientists have identified a new gamer condition in the British Journal of Dermatology. Christened PlayStation palmar hidradenitis, its symptoms include sweaty palms, painful lesions and an overpowering urge to use caps in internet forums. Okay, not that last part. The disease was discovered after a 12-year-old girl attended hospital with painful sores on the palms of her hands.
