The Sony X Series Walkman has been priced and dated for the UK, and while the 3 inch OLED touchscreen media player could be an iPod Touch killer, it doesn’t beat it for cost. Breakdown after the break.

The Sony X Series Walkman, revealed at CES last month, is coming to the UK at some point next month, and while it might pack a better screen and sound tech than Apple’s iPod Touch, that will come at a price.

The 32GB Sony X Series Walkman will set you back £283 on Amazon.co.uk, compared to £259 for a 32GB iPod Touch, while the 16GB X Series comes in at £214 compared to £205 for the equivalent iPod Touch.

If you’re cash strapped then it looks like the Sony X Series Walkman isn’t for you, but if you ask us, the digital noise cancellation, Wi-Fi and YouTube enabled aspects are well worth the extra expense. What do you reckon though? Is the extra kit worth more moolah? Thoughts on the Sony X Series Walkman below please!

another Apple wannabe, good spec with the oled screen will have to see it side by side next to the ipod Touch for screen quality.

Missing from the specifications is that the X series Walkman has a built in active noise cancellation. A feature that is unique to several models of Sony Walkmans. Some people may not want noise cancellation in their mp3 player, and others can buy it separately. In the end it is what the consumer wants.
