The Nintendo Wii is to get a new Classic Controller Pro, according to Nintendo’s Japanese website. And if you squint hard enough, doesn’t it look a bit like an old Xbox Controller S?
The new Nintendo Wii Classic Controller Pro features spaced out thumbsticks and extra shoulder buttons. Kotaku theorises this is to make Nintendo N64 ports easier to play on the Wii, as well as PS2 ports. Add to that Xbox, Xbox 360 and even PS3 ports – if the Classic Controller Pro is taken up widely enough.
While the Nintendo Wii has ploughed its own furrow so far on controller design, this could be an indication that with the Classic Controller Pro, Nintendo wants to achieve two things: bolstering its offering to retro gamers and giving the hardcore a controller that is closer to what they experience on other consoles.
But the big question is, do you want a hulking great Classic Controller Pro for your slimline Nintendo Wii? Let us know, below…

doesnt look like axbox controller at all. looks like someone fuse a gamecube and PS controller together to make this ugly thing. It basically looks like a classic controller with wing things for comfort. Lets hope theydo a cosmetic overhaul on this uglyt thing though.
I just want my own Classic Controller to work with Gamecube games.
