Creative X-Fi, Creative’s crystal clear sound card technology, has now been squeezed inside in-car audio units so you can get digitally restored music on the move. Details after the jump.
We’ve seen Creative X-Fi technology in PCs and Creative PMPs, but this is the first time we’ve seen it inside a car: JC Hyun Systems has become the first company to squeeze a Creative X-Fi sound card inside an in-car audio unit for audio upscaling.
Creative X-Fi works by identifying and restoring damaged audio elements in media files, a common feature of compressed MP3s, resulting in clearer bass and broader audio range.
Called the RUNZ CI-7100 (Doesn’t roll off the tongue, we know), the JC Hyun unit also features MPEG video rendering, GPS, a 7 inch digital LCD touch screen, USB and SD card slots and Bluetooth as well as the Creative X-Fi audio processor.
Not bad at all, though be sure to keep the video for when you’re parked! The RUNZ CI-7100 is out now in Singapore, and while there are no plans for a worldwide release, we’ll be listening in on the grapevine should anything change.
