LG will join the 12 megapixel cameraphone ranks, according to one LG exec, putting it head to head with the Sony Ericsson Idou! Find out what we know about the LG 12 megapixel cameraphone after the jump.
According to LG Mobile’s head of marketing in the UK, Jeremy Newing, LG will release a monster megapixel 12 megapixel cameraphone, and not too far from now either.
“We’ll very much be releasing a 12 megapixel camera phone…We obviously can’t afford not to be part of the 12MP cameraphone infrastructure, and we will do that and add differentiation, through things like beauty enhancer and smile shot.”
Newing wouldn’t give any more details, but that’s a resounding confirmation alright, though hardly surprising. When it comes to mobile makers, the more megapixels the merrier it seems. First Sharp says it’s got 12 megapixel cameraphone sensors ready, then Sony Ericsson comes out with a working 12 megapixel cameraphone, the Idou, and now LG too.
