The DSTL1 is the sexy, shiny new Android phone from General Mobile that we told you about back in January. Until now, we hadn’t seen it in the flesh, but General Mobile brought the DSTL1 along to the Mobile World Congress (MWC) for its first public outing. Get the skinny after the break!

The DSTL1 isn’t the highest-end phone we have ever seen, but it has some fairly respectable specs. Inside the DSTL1 ia a 5 megapixel camera, 3G and wifi and FM radio. 4GB of internal storage can be bolstered with up to 8GB of compact flash.

The WQVGA screen does look a little titchy compared to the rest of the DSTL1 – check out the size of that bezel, for goodness’ sake – and the phone uses a resistive touchscreen rather than the more durable (and pricey) capacitive screen found in the iPhone.

Check the link below for a video demo of the DSTL1 in action. It certainly looks capable of providing a reasonable Android experience, It may never conquer the mass market, but given the lack of smartphones that can handle dual-SIMs, anyone needing that feature might do well to give the DSTL1 a look.
