also – if you look at the totals and generate an average from date of sale – youll find the PS3 is selling more per year!

Microsoft always put a spin on everything.

they are the reason the Gaming Industry was shaking – sonys direction and title exclusive will protect this industry and keep it real.

xbox 360′s are crap. Millions being fooled. Since when was mass console failure regarded as a winning formula. RROD and a earlier release date are the only reason they have sold more. Eventually Microsoft anfd its foolish xbot’s will soon realise that the PS3 is the only true next-gen console available.

i had a 360 and as soon as it RROD [and this has happened to everyone i know that had a 360] i got rid and concentrated on my almighty PS3.

ps3 has better exclusives. more robust, better feature, better all round.

PS3 all the way.

Lol, I don’t know who deals with the press and statistics in Microsoft but in what possible way did they think that telling everyone

“Hey, we released our console over a year before the ps3, sure we may have sacrificed build quality and hardware performance but hey, were a million ahead, sure all that and more is from people having to buy new consoles to replace their broken ones, but it all looks good on paper!”

I think their PR employees need training, lol!

I think the console war would be a great subject for a psychology experiment, because its incredible just how Microsoft and Sony think they are leading the games market when Nintendo (who makes no claims at all) is completely dominating the market share.

I mean personaly I wouldn’t buy a Wii or DSi because its not really my style, but there is no denying that they are undoubtedly fantastic units that sell very well and “make profit” might I add. xD

and this is something to be proud about ms? thats a discrace considering the year headstart… and in europe the competion was released 6 months after japan and the us, so it will be a year and a half lead in the eu!

I would be inclined to go with the Xbox side of the figures as well. The widely publicised US sales figures where the Xbox and Wii saw good year-on-year increases as opposed to the PS3 downturn would surely translate over in Europe. The Xbox has had a head start of around a year as well. Even though you get more for the extra cost of the PS3 it’s still seen by consumers as a lot of money for something just to play games on.

LMAO They dont actually count the same place as Europe that Sony do so there statement is deliberately misleading.

Sony count PAL regions (the EU & Aus) but Microsoft count the far bigger EMEA region which is the EU, Middle East & Africa.

They released the 360 in ‘europe’ 15 months before the PS3 and they are including a far bigger market in there figures.

The simple fact is that in the EU Sony now have the lead despite the 360 costing half the price and having over a years head start.
