Microsoft could be about to launch a red Xbox 360 Elite console, according to a leaked Toys R Us screenshot. It is speculated that this is a limited edition model to be released in conjunction with Resident Evil 5, suggesting that it might be a delicious crimson hue rather than a sports car red.

Further details are scarce; the only info comes from a snapshot of the Toys R Us database. The model description mentions the Elite model specifically, which correlates to the $399.99 price tag. It wouldn’t be a huge leap to expect it to pack a matching red controller – and if it is indeed a Resident Evil 5 tie-in, we’d hope that a copy of the upcoming Capcom title will be thrown in too.

With little else to go on, there’s no indication of whether or not it will reach the UK. We’ll be keeping our fingers crossed, and will let you know if any official confirmation comes along.

  1. The red elite is not my cup of tea if im honest, i much prefer the black and green elite. When you think of xbox, 3 colours spring to mind, grey, green and black, not red, they should keep it that way instead of trying to coax us into buying a “special edition” console.
