The Samsung Show i7410 (called the W7900 is the US) is the latest phone to be revealed by Samsung for this Mobile World Congress season – a smartphone with a built in projector, guaranteed to ruin any bus journey you share with its owner.

The Samsung Show i7410 is a fairly ordinary smartphone, running Windows Mobile and Mobile Office, with one Unique Selling Point. In the top of the phone is a Texas Instruments DLP Pico projector capable of throwing an image up to 50 inches across in the right lighting conditions.

The Samsung Show doesn’t work too well in bright light at the moment, but all things being equal the Show can project video, images and powerpoint slides with sound output from the built-in speakers or headphone jack.

The Show also has a touchscreen interface with an iPhone-style ‘flick’ gesture that we can’t help but think might make the image jiggle a bit when used. The bright LED lamp required for projecting does mean that the Show makes a serviceable flashlight too, though.
