My Phone, a cloud backup service for Windows Mobile 6 and up has just been revealed by Microsoft’s CEO Steve Ballmer. Find out how it works after the jump!
At the Microsoft keynote at Mobile World Congress today, Steve Ballmer officially announced Windows Mobile 6.5, as well as a fantastic new service for it, My Phone, which backs up your data to the cloud over the air.
My Phone automatically syncs your data to a password protected web service, so any photos you take or numbers you tap in will be automatically saved, so you don’t have to worry if you upgrade or your phone gets stolen.
Best of all, My Phone will be free, and will work with Windows Mobile 6.1 phones too. It’s in invitation only beta at the moment but this should explode when the first Windows Mobile 6.5 phones roll out come summer.
