Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has been confirmed by Activision Blizzard in a conference call to its investors. The sequel will be the ‘most anticipated title of 2009′ according to, er, Activision Blizzard.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is technically the sequel to the 4th game in the CoD series, although we suppose Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2a would have been a but confusing.
Developed once again by Infinity Ward, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is expected to be a straight sequel to its predecessor’s uncomfortably relevant dip into modern theatres of war such as Middle East and Baltic states. We are no Nostradamuses at Electricpig, but it seems a safe bet that for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Afghanistan will get a look in.
Activision Blizzard haven’t released any firm details about the game’s content, however, and for all we know an all-new real world conflict could kick off by its release date of “Holiday Season 2009″ and provide us with a ready made scenario.
