Thought Capcom’s PlayStation Home plans were exciting? That’s a drop in the ocean compared to what Sony has planned. In a recent presentation Sony Computer Entertainment Japan revealed the names of some 24 Home licensees, all of whom are planning their own Home spaces.

Since the open beta launched in December, 3.6 million PS3 owners have downloaded PlayStation Home. It’s not clear how many are still visiting it regularly. So far Ubisoft has released Far Cry 2 content and EA has revealed that it is planning an EA Sports Complex, including games and trailers. Capcom was the most recent sign-up, promising unique Street Fighter IV content and a Resident Evil space.

Here’s the list of all 24 PlayStation Home conscripts:

Acquire
Activision
AQ Interactive
Atlus
Bandai Namco Games
Capcom
D3 Publisher
Disney Interactive Studios
Electronic Arts
Games Republic
Genki
GungHo
Hudson
Irem
Koei
Konami
Nippon Ichi
Paon
Q Entertainment
Sega
Spike
SNK Playmore
Tecmo
Ubisoft

Anyone else hoping for Sega Dreamcast zone?

One thing’s clear, by December next year, PlayStation Home will be a very different place to the one that launched a few weeks ago – hopefully one that will be worth spending a lot more time in.
