Nokia just unveiled the Nokia 5630, its all-new music phone with skills to rival the cleverest of smartphones, but with a price tag nowhere near what you’d expect.
The first thing you’ll notice about the Nokia 5630 is it’s small. Tiny, in fact at just 12mm thick. The second thing you’ll notice is the 5630 is cheap, at €200, or £175. But neither of those things mean it’s underpowered. Inside there are some seriously surprising specs.
The Nokia 5630 packs 3G, HSDPA and HSUPA for ultra-fast uploads. It’s also N-Gage compatible, so it’ll play the latest games. There’s 4GB of storage included, making it great for playing back movies or holding your music. Speaking of which, it’s compatible with Nokia Comes With Music, and will even download tracks on the go.
And it doesn’t end there, the 5630 also has a 3.2 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and Nokia’s latest S60 interface, lifted straight from the 5800 and including the handy Contacts Bar interface.
After weighing the specs, we reckon the Nokia 5630 is the closest thing you’ll get to an N-Series smartphone, without actually buying an N-Series. As far as we can see, all it’s missing is GPS.
