Winter weather getting you down? Sky+HD is the cure (apparently): a survey carried out by Sky found that high definition programmes can improve the psychological well being of the audience. But for those who still need a lift, it’s also come up with a new TV guide that releases serotonin when you read it. No, really.
The slightly-too-good-to-be-true findings come from research carried out by Sky+HD and agony aunt Donna Dawson, and to aid in this high definition prozac, Dawson has created a “Happier Days TV Guide “which allegedly uses “key visual factors that stimulate the brain, increase endorphin levels and release serotonin”. So, an EPG made of chocolate, pretty much.
Unsurprisingly, the guide highlights frothy rubbish like Mamma Mia and Enchanted, as well as programmes with vibrant colours and photography.
Normally, we’d be a bit skeptical of surveys like this, but then this isn’t the most worrying one we’ve come across today, so if this new guide helps keep teens occupied, then that’s fine with us.
