OS X Snow Leopard is to get better multitouch support and location tools, thanks to Apple bringing iPhone technology to the next version of its operating system. Of course, all this is most important to portable computers. Mac tablet, anyone?
Sources who’ve seen the latest test version of Snow Leopard say that a set of new programing interfaces has been included to allow for better integration of multitouch on the new MacBook range into 3rd party applications.
AppleInsider is also reporting that Snow Leopard will include CoreLocation, a part of the iPhone SDK that lets Mac programs work out the location of the machine running it. Think Google Latitude, but for developers.
So, could this let a new version of iWork record where a document was written, as well as when? Stretch images with a quick pinch of the trackpad in Photoshop? Or maybe combine, to give us a location-aware Mac Tablet of our dreams. Let us know what you’d like to see from Snow Leopard below!
