Remember the Sim2 high contrast HD TV Dolby said was coming this year? Well, it’s here. Italian projector company Sim2 has just unveiled the Solar Series TV, the world’s first packing Dolby Vision technology.
The Sim2 Solar Series 47 inch HD TV is the first to use Dolby Vision technology, which modulates LED backlighting to give stratospheric dynamic contrast ratios – even the prototype we saw was stunning.
The Solar Series is just as pretty outside of the screen though, as you can see from this press shot. It’ll be out in the “second quarter of 2009,” so that’s June at the latest. You can bet we’ll be chasing Sim2 for a hands and eyes on shortly so stay tuned.
