Sky+HD is about to get new software, updating the EPG for all the service’s HD subcribers.
Sky may be twenty today, but it’s not sitting back on its laurels as the grand old king of satellite TV – the brand new Sky+HD EPG we sneaked a peep of back in May is about to roll out nationwide, according to a top Sky exec.
“We are ramping up for its imminent launch,” Sky’s director of strategic product development, Gerry O’Sullivan, said.
The new EPG user interface should improve navigation a great deal, and will let you search through the last seven days of shows, not the current three, and will make finding a specific episode of a long running series you’ve recorded much easier, as they’ll be saved in date order. Oh, and the EPG itself is designed for HD, so it’ll look crisp and clean.
O’Sullivan didn’t say when imminent is exactly, but that sounds sooner than “Spring”, “Q2″ or other vague suggestions of time at any rate. Stay tuned.
