There is still no confirmed sighting of that Bigfoot of the mobile world,  the T-Mobile ‘G2‘. Nevertheless, we remain convinced that it must exist in some form – a theory that has been lent some credibility by T-Mobile’s USA’s marketing VP, Neville Ray.

Speaking with Fiercewireless.com about T-Mobile’s stateside 3G rollout plans, Neville dropped an extra nugget of information that may be of interest to those on both sides of the Atlantic.

“Our primary focus is consumer-based devices. As the year progresses there will be a significant number of HSPA-capable smart phones.  We will be launching more G series phones and other products.  This will be happening in the coming weeks and months.”

So – G-series phones, plural. We assume these will all be Android-powered handsets, since the G in G1 stands for Google and, let’s face it, to throw WIndows Mobile into the mix at this stage would be crazy.

But with more than one new G-Series heading our way this year, we have to wonder which form factors will be involved. Perhaps those wildly different ‘G2‘ phones weren’t so far off the mark, after all…
