What phones are on the menu today? Sony and Sharp have been prepping 12 megapixel camera phone sensors for some time now, but new reports suggest Samsung could be the first to market with a working 12MP camera phone, possibly as soon as Mobile World Congress this month. It’s a shame they might well be a hoax though.

Sill, if they turn out to be true, iPhone owners might feel a tad jealous, what with the Apple touchscreener’s sloppy 2MP sensor, and now news of syncing trouble with the latest update. Oh, and Polaroid having to get on its knees and beg for Apple to allow Bluetooth printing.

More bad news on the gaming front too: the twin touchscreen Nintendo DSi has slipped from a “Spring 2009″ release date to “Spring-Summer”. What that means we have no idea, but we’re guessing it’s later than planned.

Looking for a netbook? You could do worse than investing in Asus’s latest Eee model, the Eee 1000HE, with a stonking battery, unveiled yesterday – and while you’re at it, you might want to check out one of these new operating systems for netbooks.

And finally, it looks like Woolworths is set to make a return as an online only store this summer after being bought out – and you can have your say on what it sells.

Boy, am I jealous. My iPod touch, that I can easily upgrade to a VoIP phone, is killing me because one or two companies have and are in the process of providing apps that I don’t truly care about.

Sorry, but these novelties are doing nothing to change the iPod/iPhone landscape. They have to do these things in order to compete but, not only is this the worst time to do so economically but, ultimately, none of these apps can make a significant difference unless and until they offer a larger user experience.
