All hail Stephen Fry! The intellectual turned tech guru has reached 100,000 followers on Twitter, putting him second only behind Barack Obama in numbers of devotees on the micro blogging platform.
The comedian and writer has just passed the 100,000 mark, with the lucky first 6 digit follower, Hayley Elliott, getting a personalised message from Stephen Fry himself: “Hi there Hayley! You are my 100,000th follower! And I’m proud to be your first. Welcome to Twitter xxx”
In fact, he’s flying so fast now he’s up to 105,000 as of publication. Just a few months ago, Fry was hovering around the 25,000 mark, but recent headline grabbing criticism of the BlackBerry Storm and an appearance on Jonathan Ross have sent the number of worshippers soaring. Congrats to the man, but we dread to think what would happen if he did a David Ike with so many followers – he’d have an army at his command!
