Nikon has pushed out two new Coolpix compacts, the S230 and S220, that’ll let you annotate your photos on the touchscreen viewfinder, to complement the beefy P90 point and shoot.
Both the Coolpix S230 and S220 will let you doodle on the 10 megapixel snaps they take through the touchscreen panel on the back, which is either a complete gimmick, or perfect for anyone who takes so many photos they forget where is what and who is why.
The S230 will set you back an extra $80 for an extra half inch of screen compared to the S220′s 2.5incher, as well as ISO 2000 sensitivity, but frankly both are a bargain even without the etch a sketch feature fitted in.
As well the S230, S220 and P90, Nikon also slipped out a few more run of the mill models, the 12.2 megapixel Coolpix S630, and budget line L100, L20 and L19 models, the last of which will get you an 8MP sensor plus motion detection for just $109 – around £75 in non-Monopoly money.
