Dell has a smartphone in prototype stage, and it’s running Android! Get all the details about the mysterious Dell smartphone after the jump.
Remember that Dell smartphone rumour? Thought it was stuck in vapourwareville with the Asus Eee phone? Nope, the Dell Smartphone’s already reached prototype stage, according to new reports.
The Wall Street Journal cites a group of engineers in Chicago who claim to have been working on prototypes that run with Windows Mobile and Google Android.
These wise, anonymous folk also claim that one model was a touchscreen, while the other had a slide out keyboard, perhaps similar to that of the Palm Pre. And, because they’re anonymous and covering their asses, they say that the entire plan isn’t finalized and could still be scrapped at any moment.
Still, that they’re telling a reputable publication like the Wall Street Journal sounds promising to us. We’ll keep you posted.
