A new iPhone has been leaked by Apple in code tucked away in the latest firmware upgrade!
It didn’t seem like there was much of interest in the new iPhone firmware when it was released yesterday, but intrepid hackers have dug through the code and turned up a scintillating nugget- a reference to something called iPhone 2,1.
That’s a little curious, as the iPhone 2G is always referred to as iPhone 1,1, while the 3G iPhone update is iPhone 1,2. The very fact that this string is 2,1 rather than 1,3 suggests Apple is planning a major hardware overhaul of the iPhone.
Don’t believe us? A developer at online ad firm PinchMedia claims to have seen web requests from iPhone 2,1 devices – put two and two together and it appears that Apple has working prototypes of the new iPhone humming away inside its Cupertino HQ.
So, what’s it going to have inside? Will it be an iPhone Nano? Will it have a working video recorder? Let us know what you’d like to see in the comments below.
