Sega has revealed some details about new strategy sequel Empire: Total War and confirmed a North American release date of March the 3rd, with the rest of the world able to join in from the 4th.

Empire:Total War moves the series on a few centuries, leaving behind the medieval, feudal Japanese and Roman eras for several key military campaigns of the 18th and 19th centuries, allowing players to experience the British colonisation of America, the subsequent American war of Independence, the French Revolution, and other battles of the period featuring the Ottoman Empire and the colonisation of Africa.

Players can engage in diplomacy and trade, as well as all out warfare on land and sea. For the first time in the series, fully-3D sea battles can be directed in real time. We’re keeping our eyes peeled for more screenshots and juicy gameplay tidbits. We’ll bring them to you as soon as possible.
