BlackBerry Pearl debuts on PAYG

The BlackBerry Pearl will go on sale on pay as you go (PAYG) at the Carphone Warehouse this month. It’s the first time a BlackBerry has ever been sold on PAYG in the UK, with full push e-mail and web browsing thrown in.

RIM’s candybar e-mailer, the BlackBerry Pearl, will go on sale at the Carphone Warehouse on January 30th for £149.95. Alongside regular top up, users will be able to subscribe to the BlackBerry Internet Service for an extra fiver a month, giving them unlimited push email for one account, and 50MB of data.

There are two versions available, the 8110 Silver, with GPS, and the 8120 Pink with Wi-Fi also an exclusive to Orange, so if you’re a bloke you’ve got a tough decision to make. No fast surfing in hotspots, or having to buy a pink phone. Hmm.
