The Sony XEL-1 OLED TV has gone on sale in the UK with possibly the worst timing we’ve ever seen.
Yep, Sony’s chosen the midst of a recession to unleash one of its most expensive products ever. Find out how much the XEL-1 will set you back after the jump!
Sony’s 11 inch XEL-1, the world’s first OLED TV available to consumers, is out today, but it’ll cost us Brits a not so cool £3,489 to pick up. That’s more than double the cost of the XEL-1 in the US, and about as much as a Loewe telly more than twice the size. It’s probably worth mentioning again that it’s only 11 inches wide.
You’ll find it in Sony stores now and department stores and branches of Currys in March, but this is one bit of first gen tech we think we’ll give a miss. By all means go and have a gawp at it in the shops, in the flesh it’s absolutely stunning, but until it becomes affordable give it a wide berth.
Out Now | £3,489 | Sony (Via OLED-Display)
