Sky has just slashed the price of its Sky+HD box to £49, letting you make your home hi-def for that much cheaper.

Sky’s helping new customers shrug off the recession by slashing the price of its Sky+HD set top box to just £49. That’s 31 HD channels for a small price up front (No 3D yet though), and an extra tenner on your regular subscription for the HD channels. Unfortunately existing subscribers will still have to pay the £30 upgrade to make the switch to 1080p.

It’s not so long ago that Sky cut the cost of the box to £75, but Sky+HD for under £50? You won’t find a better bargain this side of a Woolworths and a Zavvi closing down next to each other. Or Freesat, we guess.

Out Now | £49 | Sky

1080p? I thought Sky’s output was 1080i? Sorry to be pedantic! If it’s changed, I might be more interested… :)
