The Amazon Kindle ebook reader could be getting a new edition, if new reports are to be believed. But will a new Amazon Kindle get released in the UK, or be left to gather dust on the shelf, and by shelf we mean America, with the Zune?
Amazon has announced it’ll be holding a press conference on Monday February 9 at the Morgan Library & Museum in New York city, with Chief Executive Jeff Bezos presiding, fueling speculation that a new Kindle ebook reader might be going to print – how else do you explain the setting?
“We’re fairly sure that it will be a new Kindle, one that will feature a colour screen and better battery life,” one analyst told the LA Times.
Intriguing, although we’re not too down with a colour screen, except for front cover images. Could this be a knee jerk reaction to news of a new Sony Reader this month? And more importantly, will a second gen Amazon Kindle actually get released here? C’mon Amazon, don’t fail us!
