Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage, Bethesda’s first piece of Fallout 3 DLC, is now available for PC and Xbox 360 players via their respective LIVE marketplaces. Operation Anchorage is packed with additional weapons and quests, along with a brand new perk. The expansion also gives you the chance to earn four new achievements to add to your all-important Gamerscore.
Operation Anchorage actually takes place inside an in-game virtual military simulator and lets you experience an important piece of Fallout lore – the battle to save Ancorage, Alaska from Chinese Communist invaders.
Microsoft’s exclusive deal means that PS3 gamers are unfortunately missing out on this, and the next instalment of DLC, Fallout 3: Broken Steel. However, it’s an important milestone for Microsoft’s Games for Windows LIVE service, which is heralding Operation Anchorage as its first exclusive chunk of downloadable content.
Fallout 3: Operation Anchorage can now be found on Xbox LIVE and Games for Windows LIVE at a cost of 800 points. Not too shabby when compared to the expected 1600 point cost of GTA IV’s Lost and Damned DLC.
