Sony Ericsson has cooked up some delicious tweaks and fixes for its high-end smartphone, the Xperia X1, which addresses a few niggling problems with the handset.

The update takes the system ROM version up to v1.03.161.7 and promises to fix ongoing problems with 3G/GSM signal sensitivity as well as providing greater image stability in the Camera application.

Image quality has also been improved, and the shutter sound is now turned on to stop you taking furtive snaps in places you shouldn’t.

If you can’t get the update from Sony Ericsson’s official site, someone has helpfully posted the files on the XDA developer’s forum – although you should probably give that a miss unless you know what you are doing. Don’t come running to us if your phone starts picking up alien distress calls or something.
