Panasonic has just unveiled a new camera range to be proud of, from the touchscreen FX550 to the HD video shooting TZ7 to the rugged FT1 toughcam. Meet the happy snapper family after the jump!
First up is the phenomenal touchscreen compact camera, the 12 megapixel Panasonic FX550. It’s got a 3 inch touchscreen that a smartphone would kill for, as well as traditional buttons for anyone with fat fingers, and it’s perfect for the Facebook crowd as it’s got inbuilt face recognition, so you won’t even need the new iPhoto to sort out snaps of your mates. That, and it’s got 720p video recording so you can chuck your camcorder.
Next up is the TZ7, Panasonic’s compact rival to the Flip and Creative Vado, which will shoot 720p video like the FX550, but it uses the AVCHD format, so you can record for much longer. A 10.1 megapixel sensor and a paparazzo level 12x optical zoom round off a nice spec sheet.
Finally, we’ve got the robust Panasonic FT1, which you can throw around, drop in water or cover in dust, and it’ll still keep filming. Perfect for anyone heading off piste at Easter then. It’ll do grand for the less adventurous too though, as it’s kitted out with a 12.1MP sensor and a 4.6x zoom too.
Prices are yet to be confirmed, but they’re all out in April – rest assured we’ll be on these as soon as we can, but in the meantime, check out the pictures below.
