It’s shaping up to be a good day for netbook fans. First we spied these gorgeous mockups of a triple-folding Apple netbook, even sexier than our own MacBook Nano concept, and then we heard Microsoft is muscling in with its own netbook OS!
Windows 7 is already shaping up to be a fantastic operating system, and now there’s news Microsoft is planning a special version for underpowered ultra-portables: Windows 7 Netbook Edition.
It looks likely to be optimised for PCs with processors around the 1GHz mark, 1GB of memory and a measly 16GB of disk space. The Big M’s currently running private tests, simply inviting users to test a “specialised version” of Windows.
Not enough cloak and dagger stuff for you? Then take a peek at these highly dubious renders of the new Android G2 phone from HTC. We’re reticent of touching them with a very large bargepole, but after the last lot of leaked pics, they make interesting gawping.
