Boxee, everybody’s favourite third party media centre, now has an iPhone app to let you control TV, music, photos and more no matter whether Boxee’s running on a PC, Mac or Apple TV.
Boxee iPhone Remote works by hooking up over Wi-Fi, but the real USP is the dual control mode set up: as well as your regular up, down, left, right and OK buttons, there’s a gesture mode which will let you use your thumb to scroll smoothly down lists of files. Forget universal remotes, this is the future of home entertainment right here!
It’s out now for jailbroken iPhones on Cydia, the independent app store, but anyone using the legitimate software will have to wait for the nod from Apple – Boxee says it has submitted the app for approval, so finger’s crossed it gets the thumbs up.
