The Nokia 5800 XpressMusic, the first Nokia touchscreen since about ever, has just gone on sale in the UK, and we were at the Nokia flagship store in London’s West End to meet the first 5800 owners in the country, where the queue stretched around the block! See all the pictures after the jump.
We headed down to the Nokia store on Regent Street to catch the first customers getting their grubby hands on the music mogul 5800 mobile, only to discover that they’d beaten us by a good seven hours, with the queue already snaking around the corner.
Guy Browne, from Waterloo, was the first customer through the doors to pick up a 5800 (“It’s great value for money, it’s £100 cheaper than an iPhone“), but he hadn’t travelled the furthest for the launch – of all the people in the queue we spoke to, that honour goes to Jamie Fuller, who travelled all the way from Milton Keynes to get to the store for 5am. Not that he minded, though: “I would come twice as far for one of these,” he told us.
Enough talk, check out all the action and the first 5800 XpressMusic handsets in the UK, right here. And yes, that is George Sampson, that breakdancer off the box – no, we’re not really sure what he’s doing there either.
