We first heard about it back in November 2008, but now it’s here and it’s official: Acer has launched the 10-inch version of its Aspire One netbook.
The original Aspire One sported an 8.9-inch screen, but Acer has finally matched its rivals by offering a 10.1-inch 1024 x 600 display with LED backlighting.
Aside from the bumper screen you also get a built-in webcam, an Intel Atom N270 processor, 1GB of memory and 160GB of hard drive space. The battery reportedly delivers six hours of on-the-move use. Windows XP is the OS.
Connectivity includes Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and there’s the option to kit it out with either 3G or WiMAX (although the latter is unlikely to be available in the UK).
Update: Acer has just confirmed that the Aspire One will be available mid-February, with prices starting at around £299.
