Chinese mobile manufacturer Huawei is packing an attaché case full of new models to show off at next month’s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, including a brand new smartphone running the Android OS.

Huawei is probably best known in the UK for manufacturing the Vodafone 710 and 716 handsets as well as Vodafone’s HSDPA USB Modem. In China, though, it is huge and as of last year the company is the 4th largest patent applicant in the world.

Other than the operating system, no details have been forthcoming about the handset but bringing it to the congress in Barcelona could mean that Huawei has plans to sell it outside of its usual comfort zone. Perhaps Vodafone might give it a whirl?

The Mobile World Congress kicks off in Barcelona on February 16th.
