A simple jog wheel makes the W-Series Walkman easy to control without looking

Sony’s W-Series Walkman might have been overshadowed by the touchscreen X-Series, but it’s worth getting excited about. Inside this all-in-one MP3 player-cum-headphone arrangement is some startlingly clever technology. Come and take a peep!

The whole ensemble is designed to sit on your head, ridding joggers, cyclists or anyone else keen on moving to their music, of tangly wires and annoying cables. Inside there’s 2GB of memory to hold your tunes, and easy to find controls, so you can skip songs without removing it from your lugholes.

Zappin technology automatically plays a sample of each song’s chorus when you’re skipping through, so you’ll know which track you’ve hit without having to wait for the intro to kick in, and when you’re finished listening there are neat magnetic latches to keep the Walkman’s two halves together.
