Sony has revealed that the long-anticipated PS3 exclusive Killzone 2 will be getting a demo a day ahead of its February 27th launch date. At the moment, it is only the US that has been confirmed for demo treatment, so we’re eaither waiting for similar confirmation from SCEE or it’ll be back to those fake US PSN accounts again. Hopefully, Sony’s servers can handle the surge in traffic.
There’s a lot riding on the back of Killzone 2 for Sony and the PS3. The game’s hype actually began back at E3 2005 when a bogus pre-rendered video was infamously passed off as actual gameplay. But although ridiculed at the time, the game now looks outstanding similar to, if not better than the footage shown all those years ago.
Sony’s presumably hoping that a single day behind the controls will be enought to convince you to buy the full title. We were able to get some hands on time with the game at CES last week and we reckon it’s got a good chance of doing so. After only a few minutes, we were already extremely impressed, both by the gorgeous graphics and the immersive character movements. If the rest of the game lives up to those initial impressions, Sony may be off to the start of an amazing year.
