We’ve had a hands-on with the Sony Vaio P already, and soon you’ll be able to do the same – it’s just been made available for pre-order in the UK.

The Sony Style store just started listing the Vaio P for pre-order in Britain, costing £849 for the base specification and rising all the way to £1,370. Does this make it Britain’s most expensive netbook?

The top spec Vaio P is certainly well specced, with 3G built in and a roomy 128GB of solid state storage. That’s an astonishing amount packed in, considering its tiny size.

But the base model’s not too bad either, with a 60GB hard drive inside, albeit without 3G connectivity built-in.

Still, it’s around £500 more expensive than most netbooks and the question remains: will you spend that much on a tiny PC? Give us a shout in the comments section below.

Out February | From £849 | Sony Style (thanks for the tip Jon!)

These little computers are amazing, imagine you can take that anywhere with you! I would spend more time on this than I would on other Netbooks, you could basically be having coffee and think ‘oh i am bored’ most places have wireless, and pull out your laptop!

Can you imagine if Apple had unveiled something like this at MacWorld? The internet probably would have imploded. It’s not like people would bat an eyelid if Apple charged that sort of price for it. Of course there is the Windows trade off I suppose, but I reckon it could sell. The real trick is for the likes of Asus to get that even smaller form factor and those specs down to cheaper pricetags.
