Microsoft has re-jigged its Live Search homepage, making it mobile friendly, and with a special version crafted specifically for, gasp, the iPhone!
It seems Microsoft is warming to Apple’s handset. First it released its Seadragon image viewer for the iPhone, followed by its second app, Tag Reader. Now it’s made its search engine iPhone friendly too, with some nice little extras.
Tap into m.live.com through an iPhone and you’ll see options for a standard web search, or one by location. Unfortunately, it can’t use the iPhone’s built-in GPS to track down your location, instead you need to type in the town you’re in. Which is a bit low-tech if you ask us.
Still, there’re one-touch options for searching the web, directions, maps and weather, so it’s not all bad. Still with Google built in to the iPhone’s Safari browser, we have to wonder why Microsoft is bothering.
